Branding Campaign Examples
NAME RECOGNITION AND SLOGOS
Name recognition starts with two marketing factors, a logo and a slogan. The creation of your company logo is very important as it will be the symbol that identifies your company. The colors, size and shape must state your company's philosophy and mission. There are direct and indirect logos. The direct style explains in a graphic presentation what your company does. An indirect style is just an icon that will become (with the right branding efforts) a recognized symbol for your company (the Nike® swish, or the 'golden arches' (McDonalds®)). The slogan is a phase that tells the public a message about your company like the UPS® question, "What can Brown do for you?" or, "Have it your way®."
To start a successful branding campaign put your logo and slogan on all company stationery, business cards and brochures. Soon buyers will see your logo and slogan as a unit and this will be known as your company symbol.

Retail Industry
Display advertising is any message that is seen or heard by the buying public. These messages must be positive and project your company’s image in a positive, appealing manner. These messages can be made through a brochure, print catalog, web site, trade show booth, an article in a trade journal or advertising in any form of media. Make your point or message simple and direct. The best way to do this is to create and distribute the message as a teaching tool to explain the benefit and value of your product or service to the buyer. This is not a message that is built on the features of the product, hoping that the customer can figure out what the value is to them on their own. Creativity in display ads is important, and expected by the buying public these days.
Here are some very effective ways of utilizing display advertising. There are specific benefits that have been achieved by companies who have used these methods in conjunction with certain campaigns.
Effective Methods of Display Advertising
- Paper Inserts can be used with local newspapers. This is commonly a loose single sheet of paper (different options are available) that displays your message, and can be freely pulled out of the paper. You select the day and the area that your message will be distributed.
- Creative Clothing and Promotional Materials can be used to promote your brand to the buying community. You can first offer these items to you employees, customers and vendors. As you become more stable you can use these items as a new revenue stream for your company.
- Trade Journal Articles and Newsletters are great ways to get FREE display ads. Offer your expertise as an author in your local newspaper and in your industry trade journals. If you write the article as an informational piece and not as a sales piece, it will have a better chance of being published. Make the story interesting and informative. You can use your company as the ‘expert in the field’ but do not feature your product or service. Newsletters can be offered online and to your current customers to keep them informed of money saving ideas or new products that are being offered by your company. Again, have some interesting and informative information in your newsletter, not just a sales pitch.
