Sales Training
Does Your Company Develop Employees That Excel?
Many business owners provide training classes to their employees to increase their total sales. Often they discover that there are many different styles and standards being used by their sales staff while helping customers. Some presentations were 'high pressure' or misleading. One salesperson would take ten minutes to complete a sale while another would take forty-five minutes. Some salespeople would follow-up with clients, and others would never call a customer back.
Yes, salespeople should have their own style, but not a different sales 'system.' Sales Creators has provided sales training nationwide for over three decades. We have proven that sales increase when the salesperson has and follows a system. A system provides a starting point, a direction and a point of completion. This includes following up with customers. Sales Creators refers to this system as a "track." It begins with a professional introduction and attempts to help the customer to feel at ease. Then the process should find the customers problems and uncover their needs through asking the right questions - all following a logical track. The track lets the salesperson explain the solution to the problem with 'merits' and 'rewards.' Then the track moves to answering questions and giving more information or furthering education to allow the customer to see their best options. Together the customer and salesperson should arrive at the closing process together.
Role Play to Create a Powerful Sales Force
Gather your sales staff together and "ROLE PLAY" the sales process together. Role playing is about enacting the sales process with fellow management and employees to learn about the process (if it is a new employee or if there are new products to learn how to present), or polish skills if the person is a veteran to sales situations. After you have heard each salesperson, you are in a better position to know if you need assistance. Remember, in a role playing situation, the presentation is often better than what your customer will receive. Sales Creators can offer several options for professional training. Workshops at your business site can be presented, or select an ongoing program tailored to your business goals and needs. We provide complete assessments for in-person and telephone sales situations, and we offer training solutions. Our staff listens and looks for the answer to the question: "Would I change anything in that person's presentation?"
Training will unite your salespeople into a team. Advantages of this unification include the ability for one salesperson to step in and take over a sale for another salesperson while keeping the customer at ease during a transition. This can accommodate scheduling problems, personality differences that can affect a sale, job completion commitments, and many other things. Another advantage is the level of trust and commitment employees can gain in a fun yet fair sales environment.
Product Knowledge Training
When you provide product knowledge training for your sales staff, you are helping them gain a positive mindset to work with your customers. When your staff is confident and prepared, and they know they can explain the advantages of the product to the customer, the likelihood of a sale is greatly increased. As you can see in the "PSE" section, customer comfort is a very important issue. Make sure you make the tools available to your staff, such as the product brochures, books and manuals that explain the products, and other resources necessary to support your products. They should emphasize advantages that the customer will have when they own the product. Many manufacturers have customer support for dealers or trainers who will work with your staff explaining the features and benefits of the product or service.
Policy and Procedure Training
During training sessions and at company meetings are great times to educate all employees on the reasons for each company policy. It is important to make sure everyone understands what management’s expectations are for every task or company-related issue. Ask each department what areas they would like to see changed and why. This gives every employee a chance to voice concerns and possible problem areas. This process, when approached in the correct manner can benefit the company, employees and customers.
Employee Development Training
This training is directed at, and developed for management personnel. It is in-depth instruction and it covers many issues: hiring better employees, building more productivity, motivating and providing guidance for all staff to make better choices, and how to retain and build loyalty with employees.
Sales Creators can train your management training staff on these proven methods, or we can provide hands-on training for your sales team.
