Tai Chi and Qigong for Health

TAI CHI (pronounced “tie-jee”) is a gentle exercise with choreographed moves that flow together like a slow motion dance. When done in a precise order it helps facilitate energy flow, fitness, relaxation and mental concentration.

QIGONG (“chi kung”) is an ancient art form that integrates breathing techniques and physical movements to promote self healing. Everyone can benefit from the practice of qigong, regardless of ability, age, or physical condition.

Practice of tai chi and qigong has been proven to be beneficial for people recovering from injuries, surgery, or those with movement disorders. These classes are conducted with student safety in the foreground, and can be attended by the above groups.

Classes include methods for reducing stress, and ways to boost the immune system, and help to stabilize the nervous system. Learn more about how qigong and tai chi are beneficial. Join for virtual sessions, or register for class in the park. Experience tai chi the way it is practiced all over the world each day: outdoors in nature. Or, make a scheduled 'health' break during your day!

Experience the balance that comes from practicing. By learning qigong techniques to relax and breathe efficiently, some people feel better immediately, while others acquire huge health benefits as they practice over time. Learning and moving in a tai chi ‘form’ aids balance, focus, and opens a sense of energy flow not found in exercise alone.

Current sessions are grouped in four-week terms while we are offering virtual (Zoom) and outdoor classes. Please indicate which class/es you will attend (call or email). Register for one regular class with the 'single class' option, or (if they are offered) register for MULTIPLE classes, or for a SEMI-PRIVATE class. For virtual classes, we recommend the ability to position yourself so that the instructor can see your feet and hands, if possible. Before starting any exercise program, we recommend that you consult with a qualified physician.
